01Who we are
Social Mania (“Social Mania”, “we”, “us”) is a social media, PR and branding agency with studios in Delhi, India and Dubai, UAE. We also run the Social Mania Creator Academy. We decide how and why your personal data is used, so we are responsible for it under this policy.
The policy covers this website, our WhatsApp and email conversations, our proposals and client work, and Academy enrolment. Client campaigns we run on platforms such as Instagram or Meta Ads are also covered by those platforms’ own policies.
02What we collect
What you give us. Your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, your brand or channel, a project brief and anything else you choose to tell us in a message, call or form.
When you join the Academy. Your name, contact details, social media handles, your batch and attendance, and confirmation of payment. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
What your browser sends. Like any website, our hosting provider records technical data when pages load: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the site that referred you. If we add analytics, it is described in the Cookie policy and only switched on with your consent.
Mania AI. The assistant on our site is a demo that runs in your browser with pre-written answers. What you type into it is not sent to us or stored.
03How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a proposal.
- To deliver the services in our agreement with you: strategy, content, campaigns and reports.
- To run Academy batches: scheduling, live sessions, recordings, community groups and certificates.
- To send updates you asked for, such as new batch dates. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep the website secure and working, and to understand which pages are useful.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
04Why we are allowed to
We process personal data when you have given consent (for example by messaging us or enrolling), when it is needed to perform a contract with you, or for other uses the law permits, such as meeting legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect what was done before.
We follow the data protection laws that apply to us, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the UAE’s Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
06Third-party content on this site
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and scripts and images from content delivery networks, and link to our profiles on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and X. Those providers receive your IP address and browser details so they can deliver their files, and their own privacy policies apply. See the Cookie policy for the list.
07International transfers
We work across India and the UAE, and some of our providers store data in other countries. When data moves between countries, we use providers with recognised safeguards and share only what is needed.
08How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months after our last conversation.
- Client records: for the length of the engagement, then as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Academy records: for the batch and 24 months after, so we can reissue certificates and support alumni.
After that we delete or anonymise it.
09Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct or update it, delete it, or stop using it for something you consented to. Under Indian law you can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Write to hey@socialmania.in and we will reply within 30 days.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or the UAE Data Office.
10Children
This website is not aimed at children. Anyone under 18 may join the Creator Academy only with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian, and we do not track or target ads at children.
11Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards: access limited to the people who need it, secured accounts and trusted providers. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
12Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or WhatsApp before it applies.
